Missoula Aging Services

Company Overview

Mission
Missoula Aging Services promotes the independence, dignity and health of older adults and those who care for them.

Company Overview
All programs and services of Missoula Aging Services empower older adults to live independent, dignified, healthy lives. For example, the Meals on Wheels Program improves the health of homebound people by providing hot, home-delivered meals along with a safety check; the Respite and Homemaking Programs improve lives by creating a safe and healthful home environment; and the Resource Center provides personalized information and referrals to help older adults live independently for as long as possible. Comprehensive information and support with care giving, housing, financial assistance, legal services, home health, transportation options, long-term care planning, veteran’s services, Medicare and Medicaid counseling and more is readily available by phone, e-mail, web site or by scheduling a personal consultation. Professionally managed Volunteer Programs engage over 600 individuals and also provide older adults with opportunities to be active, healthier and add meaning to life while making a positive impact on the community. The organization actively advocates for the rights of older adults, works to preserve or expand funding on federal, state and local levels, and engages volunteers to help prevent Medicare fraud and abuse statewide.

Company History

We’re Proud of Our Years
Missoula Aging Services is the designated Area Agency on Aging for Missoula and Ravalli Counties. Established in 1982 by the Missoula County Commissioners with a modest budget of $279,000 and a staff of five, we began by providing a small congregate meal program, Meals on Wheels, RSVP (Volunteer Program) and the Foster Grandparent Program. In 2006, the agency became an Aging and Disability Resource Center to ensure efficient use of resources in serving adults of all ages with disabilities. Thirty-five years later, we stand strong with a staff of 45 and a budget of more than $4 million. Last year we served more than 30,000 individuals. We are proud of our years and thankful for those who have made our many accomplishments possible.
