The Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) is offering two full-time researcher positions in any of the following areas of application of the Center: Smart Industry and Health Technology. These areas encompass several research lines including, but not limited to, Control and Automation, Robotics, Data Analytics and Computational Intelligence, and Biomedical Systems.

Part of the renowned Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (USM), AC3E unites top-tier talent from seven additional Chilean universities, serving as a central hub of research excellence and innovation in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Our mission is to advance knowledge and technology development, cultivate skilled professionals, and stimulate innovation and technology transfer in sectors of societal and industrial relevance.

Job description

• Design, organize and conduct highly specialized research in the field of expertise.
• Generate scientific reports and publish results in high-impact journals
• Secure competitive external funding to support research activities.
• Attract competitive external research funds.
• Engage in industrial projects related to your area of expertise, translating research insights into practical applications.
• Collaborate with members of the AC3E team.
• Offer mentorship and guidance to postdocs, students, and junior technical staff/engineers.

Requirements

• Documentation providing evidence of the possession of a PhD
• Strong publication record demonstrated with publications in WoS and external funding.
• Experience in the field of innovation and technology transfer is desired, through patents and industrial projects.
• Language proficiency: English and Spanish (desired)

General Information

• Salary according to a competitive standard

• AC3E is located at USM main campus in Valparaiso, Chile. The applicants are expected to live and work in Valparaiso, Chile
• Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Research accomplishments (publications, grants and awards): 50%; Research statement: 30%; and Expected impact at AC3E: 20%
