Description

Westminster Canterbury Richmond is looking for a Director of Strategic Growth to lead the planning and execution of key strategic growth initiatives across the organization.  Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this important role will provide leadership, direction and oversight for Westminster Canterbury’s strategic growth initiatives and new business line development, develop growth opportunities for the organization and work with the organization's leaders to develop business growth plans and quality metrics for growth to assure the advancement of the company's short-term and long-term goals and support the organization’s mission, vision and values to create value for residents and other stakeholders and to strengthen financial wellbeing.  

This full-time position works onsite at our beautiful award winning campus in Richmond, Virginia.

Requirements

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Lead strategy formation, especially as related to strategic growth
  • Execute strategic growth initiatives, implementing growth and investment decisions that create value
  • Manage strategic growth of existing business lines
  • Design systems and processes to hold Westminster Canterbury Richmond accountable to agreed upon strategic growth targets, timelines and metrics in a sustainable way
  • Pursue a proactive approach to strategic growth plan execution
  • Identify areas of strategic growth opportunity
  • Identify strategic risks and help to reduce these risks
  • Educate stakeholders on strategic efforts and growth opportunities
  • Lead innovation efforts to inspire change and growth
  • Lead process improvement related to strategic planning
  • Define and monitor metrics to measure performance and progress
  • Develop and strengthen internal and external relationships
  • Track and evaluate emerging markets and trends
  • Foster an entrepreneurial growth culture through the organization, across teams and work functions
  • Develop and monitor metrics of strategic success

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, reach, stand, bend, walk for periods of time depending on daily responsibilities
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26+ pounds with manual or mechanical assistance

 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Understanding of senior living industry from a broad perspective
  • Ability to create connections, bringing the right people to the table for decision making and forward movement
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across the entire organization – leadership, staff, Trustees, residents, etc. – creating shared alignment and vision
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex topics and strategy to all stakeholders at all levels
  • Problem-solving skills to identify problems, evaluate options and execute solutions
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset, willingness to try new things and think creatively to solve problems
  • Collaborative spirit with leadership, Trustees and others
  • Research and analytical skills
  • Financial and business acumen

 DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Understanding and knowledge of long-term care and assisted living regulations

 REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic planning and business development

 DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in affiliations, mergers and acquisitions
  • Graduate degree in business administration
  • Experience in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)
